✦Life Story
Caleb was one of the twelve spies sent into Canaan. Ten came back with a report of giants and said it was impossible. Caleb and Joshua came back with the same intelligence and said it was possible — because God had promised. For that minority report of faith, Caleb was the only one of his generation (along with Joshua) allowed to enter the Promised Land. He waited forty-five years. Then, at eighty-five years old, he did not ask for a retirement village on the coast. He asked for the mountain where the giants lived, saying, I am as strong now as the day Moses sent me. Give me this mountain. He took it. Age and time do not diminish the spirit of someone who has followed God fully.

God of Caleb, give me his spirit — the one that sees what God has promised and says it is well able to be taken. When others retreat, help me to follow You fully. Amen.
