2 Kings 2:9

Elisha — Bible Hero Card

Life Story

Elisha was plowing his fields when Elijah threw his cloak over him — and Elisha left the oxen, ran after Elijah, and asked only to say goodbye to his parents. He served Elijah faithfully for years and when the moment of Elijah's departure came, he refused to leave his mentor's side. His one request: a double portion of Elijah's spirit. He received it. Elisha performed twice as many recorded miracles as Elijah — multiplying oil for a widow, raising a boy from the dead, healing Naaman's leprosy, feeding a hundred men with twenty loaves, and more. He asked for more of God not out of ambition but out of hunger. His life challenges us: are we asking God for more of His Spirit, or settling for yesterday's measure?
